Ensure That All Mainer’s Are Provided with the Housing, Education, and Job Skills to Thrive

Having grown up in a working-class family in Maine, David knows what it’s like to have to work hard to pay bills and get ahead. As Maine’s senator, David will support efforts to:

  • Focus Congress on lowering the cost of living for Maine’s middle-and-working-class families.
  • Increase federal Child and Earned Income Tax Credits.
  • Expand SNAP (Food Stamps) and other benefits for children and families at risk.
  • Provide universal pre-kindergarten and aftercare.
  • Expand federally funded workforce training and apprenticeship programs.
  • Increase federal funding for K-12 and trade schools and colleges.
  • Establish a federally supported minimum wage for teachers and first responders.
  • Expand sustainable community, affordable housing, and housing development tax credits, loans, and other assistance.
